Ok, who am I & why am I building Portable Solar TrackersI am a 50 something year old pensioner, formerly a diesel mechanic & workshop Forman. I was until I became ill with Multiple sclerosis. Or M.S as its commonly called. Having M.S has left me quite useless much of the time; but now and then I am graced with a few days, or even a few weeks, of near normality. I can be fine today, down for the count tomorrow. So planning ahead is totally pointless. Be as it is, I only do things on a "when I am able" basis. Never being one to stay stuck to a bed once my eyes open, I start moving as soon as I awaken. If and when I am able. And when I feel sure I am again blessed with half normality, phisically and emotionally, my wife and I head bush for a few days R&R. We love gold fossicking and it was on our last trip to Trunky Creek that the idea hit me. I had made myself 3 solar panels using recycled solar cells purchased from the U.S.A, but they didn't perform as I'd wished and hoped. And as we all know, a cold drink is obligatory at the end of a hard day… in my case; a hard day is about two hours fossicking with the sluice and gold Pan. So, I needed to buy a good solar panel, but, at around $600 for each 60 watt panel, I soon realised we couldn't afford another. Then when we returned home from that trip, I thought about buying a portable, light weight, easy to assemble solar tracker to carry my now one and only good solar panel. Two of the DIY panels died. I searched the Internet and was quite horrified at the design and hideous prices of these contraptions. I needed to invent one. And this, people, is how the Campa-Tracka was born. And yes, we did find a few specks of the yellow stuff called Gold. Having M.S and trying to make something does have its challenges I assure you. I have the jitters in my fingers 90% of the time; so please do not expect to receive a factory finished product. There may be a scratch or two on the Aluminium, and I don't bother trying to polish the tracka so it glows in the dark. I have always been a practical person. Meaning; I make and do things for a reason, not for its great eye appeal. So please keep this in mind when you order a Campa-Tracka. However, I assure you that they do function and I will back up my workmanship if I believe I have failed you in any way. My Late Father always said, if you believe within yourself that you are not doing it right, then don't do it. My point being, I believe in the quality and usefulness of the Campa-Tracka. And would NOT sell them if I thought they weren't of reasonable quality. Communication. This simple act of achieving a positive outcome to any problem, small or large, is a must. So if you receive your Campa-Tracka and have any concerns at all, simply communicate with me, and I am sure we can overcome any concerns you may have. I have often had good reason to leave sellers on ebay a very negative feedback; but I don't. Who does this help in the end? Absolutely no one gains from negative feedback. Communication is the answer people. Now that you now a little about me and my thoughts, keep in mind that I only build the Campa-Tracka when I am able. They will be listed on this site, or on www.ebay.com.au when I have one complete and tested for at least one day to be sure they are fully functional. You can place an order for a V2 single panel tracker or the soon to be compleated Campa-Tracka V3 dual panel solar tracker. to place an order simply email me from the Contact us Page And SMILE DAMN YA ! |
